Alaska Halibut Fishing. Halibut fishing season extends from April through September peaking in mid-July. A typical halibut fishing charter departs the dock at a.m. and cruises through the pristinely beautiful Kenai Fjords National Park en route to world class Alaskan halibut fishing grounds. The Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly will introduce a resolution Tuesday authorizing the borough to seek assistance from the state to fund flood damage repairs in Seward. During a series of storm systems and seemingly nonstop heavy rainfall this past October, Seward was inundated with water ca.

Keep your cameras handy as you will be cruising through the Kenai Fjords National Park to some of the richest fishing waters in the world with abundant wildlife both on land and at sea. Once anchored, Alaska Dream Charters staff will provide as little or as much guidance as you would like, and will be happy to fillet any fish once back to port.   Laura Bergey is a student at Alaska's Institute of Technology in Seward. Bergey says she’s seen flooding before, and has watched the work being done to keep the city above water.

Seward County, Kansas participates in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) which allows area residents to purchase affordable flood insurance. Any resident may purchase flood insurance through this program. Participation in this program requires regulating all development in the floodplain. In city limits, flood waters ran over the long runway at the Seward airport and washed across Dieckgraeff Road. The waterfall from the Lowell Creek Diversion Tunnel turned a muddy brown as the creek carried gravel and debris out of the canyon, threatening to fill the basin at the tunnel outflow.
